Power in Prayer

There is so much power in prayer! We see and hear about the power almost daily in the shoppe and I see in my own life and in the lives of those around me the miracles and changes prayer brings. Healing, financial burdens lifted, changing lives and so much more. I think we forget sometimes the power and benefits of prayer. It's more than just the miracles, it's also how it changes us, changes our lives and the lives of those around us. It's how it changes how we see life, challenges and blessings. Prayer gives hope and many times a new way of life. It draws us closer to God and deepens our relationship to him. It frees us from burdens and strongholds. As I've been praying about prayer and thanking God for just the ability to pray freely I wanted to share what I feel some of the incredible benefits of prayer are. Prayer is so powerful and having that relationship with Christ is truely like no other. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

Let us pray for you. Please add any prayers on to our prayer board and we will pray expectantly for God to answer and work in your life.

Benefits and power of Prayer

  • Draw closer to God
    • Praying allows us to draw into Christ. A place where we can lay everything down without any judgement. A place for release, forgiveness and healing. A place to open our hearts and let God in. A place to ask for eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to feel what God has for us. Praying allows us to hear from God to know that He hears us and has a beautiful plan for us. {“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”} Hebrews 10:22
  • Bring about Calm
    • Praying helps us focus and allows God to bring about a calm and peace to our hearts reducing anxiety and overwhelm. He gives us strength through Him and prepares us for what is in front of us. He makes the hard bearable and removes fear. {Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.} Philippians 4:6-7
  • Increases Gratitude
    • Praying helps us look at all our blessings and trails and what we have learned thus increasing our thanks and gratitude. Praying gives us time to reflect on the good that comes in our lives and in the lives of those we love. {"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!"}Psalm 107:1
  • Overcome Temptations
    • Praying can help us move away from temptations. Tempations for addictions, anger, or other worldly things can fade away when we come to pray. God can help us refocus our minds and hearts and remove the desire for things that can harm us or others. {God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”} 1 Corinthians 10:13
  • Serve & Focus on Others
    • Praying for others gets us outside of ourselves and helps us to look to others. Praying for others brings about more empathy, love and understanding for those around us. Our focus changes from our own situation to how we can help serve others. {Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”} James 5:16
  • Miracles
    • Praying can and will bring about miracles! God tells us that He will answer our prayers. We have seen so many miracles come about from prayer. Healing; physical, mental and emotional. Financial healing, renewal of spirits, reconciliation of families and so much more. There is true power in prayer. {For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20}   (“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24}
