Taking Ground and Moving Forward in Faith – Crossing into God’s Promise

Last week, we explored how our testimonies can become faith-building markers for the next generation. This week, we shift focus to what comes next: moving forward. After remembering God’s faithfulness and preparing our hearts for legacy, the next step is often the hardest—obedience. Stepping into the unknown. Trusting God to lead even when the way forward feels overwhelming.

📖 Scripture Focus: Joshua 4:10–13 (ESV)

“For the priests bearing the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the Lord commanded Joshua to tell the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua. The people passed over in haste. 11 And when all the people had finished passing over, the ark of the Lord and the priests passed over before the people.
12 The sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh passed over armed before the people of Israel, as Moses had told them. 13 About 40,000 ready for war passed over before the Lord for battle, to the plains of Jericho.”

This part of the passage marks the moment of transition. The people had to take the step. They had to leave behind the wilderness and cross over into the land God had promised them. That required courage, faith, and forward motion—even when they didn’t know what would happen next.

They didn’t wait until the battle was over to praise God. They stepped forward before the victory—fully trusting that God would show up as He had before.
