šĀ Godās Presence in the Middle of Transition ā You Are Not Alone
Over the past three weeks, weāve journeyed through remembrance, testimony, and forward motion. But before we close, we must recognize one of the most comforting truths in Joshua 4: God doesnāt just send us through hard transitionsāHe walks with us. He stands right in the middle of them.
š Scripture Focus: Joshua 4:15ā18 (ESV)
15 And the Lord said to Joshua,
16 āCommand the priests bearing the ark of the testimony to come up out of the Jordan.ā
17 So Joshua commanded the priests, āCome up out of the Jordan.ā
18 And when the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord came up from the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up on dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and overflowed all its banks, as before.
Ā
The Ark of the Covenantāthe symbol of Godās presenceāstood in the middle of the Jordan until everyone had passed through. It didnāt rush ahead. It didnāt wait on the other side. It remained steady, right where the challenge was deepest.
This reminds us that in our moments of greatest uncertainty, God is not distant. Heās in the very centerāholding back the waters, making the way safe, steadying our steps.
šŖØ Reflection:
- What transition or challenge are you walking through right now?
- Do you sense Godās presence in the middle of itāor are you struggling to trust that Heās there?
š« Closing Reflection:
As we come to the end of this month's journey through Joshua 4, may we each take a moment to pause and truly reflect on what God has shown us:
- The importance of remembering His faithfulness
- The power of sharing our testimonies with the next generation
- The boldness it takes to step forward in obedience
- And the comfort of knowing His presence is with us in every transition
God doesn't just ask us to moveāHe equips us with the memory of His miracles, the courage of faith, and the companionship of His Spirit. Whatever season you are ināwhether crossing into something new, waiting in uncertainty, or looking back in gratitudeāknow this: God is writing your story, and He is not finished yet.
Let your stones of remembrance mark not only where youāve been, but also who God has been through it all.
A Look to August and something New!Ā As July comes to a close, Iāve been reflecting on how deeply this monthās journey through Joshua 4 has connected to my own walk with the Lord. Like the Israelites crossing the Jordan, Iāve been in a season of transitionāone where God has been gently calling me to remember His faithfulness while preparing my heart to move forward into something new.
I donāt have all the answers yet, but things are shifting. A fresh season is unfolding, and God is already thereāinviting me (and you, too) to see His goodness in deeper ways. Iāll be sharing more in August, and I canāt wait to walk into this next part of the journey together.
So, for now⦠keep watching, keep listening, and above all, keep expecting. Because when we make space for Him, God always reveals more than we imagined.
š Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for walking with us through this month of reflection and renewal.
You are the God who parts the waters, who leads us step by step, and who never leaves us in the middle of the unknown. Help us to remember Your faithfulness, to share our stories boldly, to step forward in faith, and to rest in Your presenceāespecially when we donāt yet see the whole picture.
May the stones of remembrance in our lives stand as testimonies to Your power, love, and nearness. Use them to strengthen us and to inspire the generations that follow.
We surrender this next chapter to You. Keep writing our stories, Lordāand help us to follow where You lead.
In Jesusā name,
Amen.
