📌 Stones of Remembrance: Walking Forward in Faith
Throughout July, we’re reflecting on Joshua 4:3–19, where God calls His people to mark the moment they crossed into His promises—not just for themselves, but for generations to come. Each week, we’ll explore a truth from this powerful story that speaks to our personal walk, legacy of faith, and how we move forward with courage.
📖 Week 1: Remembrance of God’s Faithfulness – How We Honor What God Has Done
Scripture Focus: Joshua 4:3–6 (ESV)
“Take twelve stones from here out of the midst of the Jordan, from the very place where the priests' feet stood firmly, and bring them over with you and lay them down in the place where you lodge tonight.’”
... “that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ 7 then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord... So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.”
In this part of the story, God commands the Israelites to take twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River and place them where they would rest. These weren’t just rocks—they were memorials. Visible reminders of spiritual breakthroughs. A call to remember how God had moved before.
God parted the waters of the Red Sea—and now again at the Jordan. He made a way through the impossible, and He wants us to mark those moments. Remembering God’s faithfulness builds faith for what lies ahead.
